Thai Shrimp Served on a Chilled Salt Block

This quick and easy no-cook shrimp recipe gets rave reviews for pleasing the pallet and for its impressive presentation. Chill the salt block for one to two hours prior to serving, and the shrimp will stay cold until the very last bite. A touch of our Lime Citrus Sea Salts adds a touch of salt without being too sour.

Ingredients

 

  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated lime zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Cellar Lime Citrus Sea Salt
  • 2 pounds cooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Directions

     

  • Before you begin, put your salt block in the refrigerator to chill
  • In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except shrimp. Add the shrimp; turn to coat.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Drain and discard marinade.
  • Arrange shrimp on your chilled salt block.
  • Jalepeño Stuffed Mushrooms Served on a Warm Salt Block

    These delicious stuffed mushrooms will be the hottest thing at the party. Serve on a warmed salt block, add your favorite Salt Cellar hot sea salt, and things will really begin to heat up

    Ingredients

     

  • 20 button mushrooms, stems removed
  • 1 block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Cellar Jalepeño Pepper Sea Salt
  • Directions

     

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, garlic, and salt.
  • Stuff mushrooms with mixture and transfer to a baking dish or sheet.
  • Bake until mushrooms are cooked and mixture warmed through, 25 minutes.
  • During the last 10 minutes of baking time, place the salt block in the oven to warm.
  • Transfer the mushrooms to the warmed salt block and serve.
