DIY Salt Spray
You can bottle our DIY Sea Salt Spray for wavy hair all summer long and even into the fall and winter. Try this easy to make spray and your hair will look like you’ve spent the day at the beach anytime you want. It enhances natural waves and curls with the casual, carefree style of beach hair. It also softens and conditions hair without weighing it down, builds volume, and helps prevent the drying effects of the summer sun as it moisturizes your hair and scalp. If you’re on a budget, you’ll love the savings over salon products, and your savings could even pay for another day at the beach!
What you’ll need:
- 1 cup of hot water (not boiling)
- 1/2 tsp Salt Cellar Himalayan Crystal Salt
- 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
- 1/2 tsp leave-in conditioner (optional- don’t use if you have fine/oily hair)
How to make it:
Pour the warm water, Epsom salt, and sea salt into the spray bottle. Shake until salt dissolves. Combine the aloe vera gel and leave-in conditioner in a separate bowl, then add the mixture to your spray bottle. Shake the bottle again, and you’ve got homemade sea salt spray. If your hair is straight and you want all-day waves, wash it the night before and spray hair with your sea salt spray while it’s still damp. Then braid into pigtails and leave in overnight. In the morning, take out the braids and spray with a little more spray. Scrunch with your hands and let it dry. For thick or curly hair, simply spray, scrunch with your fingers, and go!
