Szechuan is actually a berry from an Asian plant. Eaten alone, the Szechuan pods create a numbing sensation inside your mouth. Szechuan pepper is not as spicy hot as you may expect, it has more of a citrus, woodsy aroma. 

Szechuan pepper, sometimes called Chinese pepper, a is commonly used spice in Chinese, Tibetan, Nepali, and Indian cuisine. Our Szechuan Salt is great with turkey chili, on noodles and with meat dishes.
